Japan 2001

My third holiday to Japan, and the first time I'd visited since my sister had returned back home to England. Naturally, it was quite daunting, having to survive on my own without a translator! But once I'd returned to Kyushu, to meet friends there, things became a lot easier... All in all, another amazing experience.

Osaka Castle. Impressive from a distance, but very non-authentic. Elevator indside, etc! Out at night in Osaka - lot's of bright lights, and a pulsing atmosphere.. The bizarre Sky Building in Osaka. I went up this, and took some photos. But the weather was poor and photos not good!
From Osaka, Kyoto. Little did I know I'd end up living here (the city, not the temple) one day. This is the famous Golden Pavilion Another shot of Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) And Toji, also a famous Kyoto sight.
A nice winding trail through bamboo forests in Sagano, near Kyoto.. A dragon in a fountain, outside a temple (Kyoto) Some of the many deer in Nara. They're not at all afraid of people, and I saw one with it's head down a schoolgirl's bag!
A brass band playing at a festival in Kyoto Station. Errr, something a little stranger, at the same festival. Getting on the bullet train at Kyoto station, to head down to Kyushu!
Kamiyo (and Teddy) outside Herbal, where I stayed. Me at Daizafu, where I went with Kamiyo and Kikuka. Kamiyo, Daizafu.
Getting something to eat in a restaurant near Daizafu. Me at Daizafu, where I went with Kamiyo and Kikuka. With Tomiko and her children at there house in Ouchi.
The still very tiny Koto-chan! With Miwa's children. Out with the guys for some yakitori and beer!
Karaoke with the Inoue's! Everyone getting into the swing of it! Yoshko is one her feet for this one!
Strange post-karaoke printclub photos. And another... Eating cakes at Herbal!
Pochi naturally joins in with most meals... And at the aiport, going home *sniff*
